A pumpkin shell can be quite tough, which makes it difficult to remove. It is best to start cutting in parts of the pumpkin, and then remove the peel each part with a sharp knife. When a pumpkin is very hard, you can use the pumpkin as a whole as boiling water; a maximum of ten minutes. The skin is now much easier to remove (the skin is thinner, more pulp left over to eat).
