Nail polish is nasty stuff. It is difficult to remove without leaving damage behind. Nail polish dissolves in acetone, but we know that the use of acetone, constitutes risks. Dried polish on smooth surfaces like parquet and linoleum can only be adequately removed by scratching them off. With a bit of skill one can succeed in one movement with a paint scraper, a scraper or a straight cut piece of glass. The bald spot that remains is to be cleaned with as little water as possible, then turn the place thick in the wash. After a while, remove the excess wax and polish.
